I know, I know....in theory the title makes zero sense.
But I liked it so...here it is. Wedding invites in all their "outfit" glory!
Technically it IS paper that is dressed up in something fancy for a special occasion. :)
First of all...Tracy Coleman if you are reading this STOP reading it...you can't see the invites before you actually receive it!!! Stop stalking me for like one day :)
How these invites came about is kind of a funny story. A little over a year ago when I first started blogging and first started gathering my list of blogs to follow I stumbled upon Ruth's blog. Ruth has a fabulous Etsy shop where she does invites/stationary that are all nautical themed. BUT one day on her blog she posted photos of the wedding invites she made for her sister's wedding. To say I fell in love with them would be an understatement. I bookmarked the post and thought...One day...I will have these as my wedding invitations.
Low and behold...I've got 'em! I never anticipated getting the opportunity to ask Ruth to make them for me any time in the near future after I bookmarked the page.
Ruth was beyond helpful during this process. Seeing as I've never ordered wedding invites I was very much a novice. She went above and beyond and I am so extremely thankful for all her hard handcrafted work.
Okay enough chit chat...here they are!
I failed to get a photo of what's underneath the cut out on the tree - it's the date of our wedding!
You can sort of see it peaking out in the above photo.
The packaging - how my dream invites arrived - it was such a treat to open the box and see all of the pieces wrapped up with such care.
Here are a couple of photos of Ruth hard at work with her handy dandy X-Acto!
Ta da!! That's them! I couldn't be happier with how they turned out and I think they fit the theme perfectly. Really I fit the "theme" around my invites since they were on my mind long before I was proposed to! Rustic, nature, fun, and lighthearted.
Thank you so much Ruth!!!
I've been trying not to overload you all with wedding stuff but I still want to include all of you so I'm sure you'll be seeing it a little more interspersed the closer it gets!
I never thought I'd be writing about MY wedding invites.
You just never know where life will take you and what journey you will find yourself on...even if you think you have it all planned out. Gotta love it.
Talk to you soon!

ReplyDeleteThose are so totally amazing! You have way more patience than we did with invitations. I bought a kit to print it yourself from Michaels and had a total mental breakdown when I realized the font they used was from a $250 Font Family.
